Happy Birthday...

......to my nephew who turns 17 today, wow where did those years go. He is a very outdoors type person and loves to hunt. This was a Pinterest find that I loved but just had to change a bit to fit with the stamps I had. I think it suits him perfectly.
Again I have used a Christmas stamp for this card but in a very not Christmas way!

The Great Outdoors

My good friends son is having a birthday next week so it was time to bring out some male inspired cards. Fathers Day is also next week so have already got the thinking cap on. This set has not seen much inky time and it fitted in well with this sketch that I found.

One day I might just enter in some of the sketch challenges I find, but for now they are a great starting point for when I have stampers block!

I started with a sketch.

These were a couple of male inspired cards I made in my play time last week. I found a sketch in my saved book, found a couple of stamp sets I hadn't played with in awhile and here is the results.

Happy birthday Bro

I have hunter gathers in my family . As I was going thru my stamps I found this retired Christmas set that I thought fitted the bill nicely. I don't think it even got inked up at christmas time, but I love it here. I found a sketch from my Pinterest boards, and found a male looking  colour combo from the colour coach and this is the result!

Out with the old, in with the new.

2 posts in one day from me wow! Well not really, that last post I did about 2 months ago and didn't realise it didn't publish, bit any how. I have been busy busy. Lots of cards have been produced around here with Mother's Day been and gone. I will get to photographing some of those soon.
These cards I have for you today were made from a sketch I found on Pintrest, I took quite a shine to it and also found the left overs from a simply scrappin' kit from last years catalogue. So before I can buy new paper I first need to use up some old stuff, and the new Stampin' up catalogue is rite around the corner - so that will mean new DSP papers. Now on to my cards.

Peek-a-Boo

This is one of those ideas that has been around for quite some time but I have only just got to make one. This was one of the line up for Fathers Day cards at my $3 cards a week or so ago.  I bought that cute little owl punch when it first came out but have never made an owl with it until this card!!! And now I think I shall be making many more.....

Masculine Birthday card

This was the birthday card I made for my oldest boy for his birthday. Its a great design I cased from Kristine McNickle from a while back, I loved what she did on her card and I have made a lot of this style for boys cards just changing the colour combo. The skater dude has had the rock'n'roll technique done on him using the same two colours of my card, Lucky Limeade and Elegant Eggplant. This card uses a stampin up stamp that was never available here, such a shame! It's borrowed from a friend. My son is into his scooter in a big way so this was close.

The Open sea, for the blokes

I finally have got the have a play with some new goodies. I am so glad we got this set in New Zealand, I also have the DSP that goes with this open sea stamp set and I have so many sea side photos to scrap with it. Anyways, these two cards are for two family members birthdays commin' up. The card on the left has been cased from Deb Ferns, an Australian Demo. Its a nice clean looking card. And then the one to the right I just let loose and played. I also used the new to me smooch spritz. Here I have used the 'Gold Glow' one that kind of gives the card an aged look as well as the sparkle that you can't see here. This stuff is so cool and I have to hold back from putting it on all my cards lol.

Extreme Guitars

This is my latest new rubber. Its a stamp with so many possibilities. Can make boy or girl cards, I have a 10 year old and this is just great for around that age with out being cute. My boys are not even into music this way but my cards got a definite thumbs up from them - even the pink one!! The card on the left was made using the colour coach, I thought it a strange colour combo but now that I have tried it I really like it, Go the colour Coach.

Black and White

This is yet another card with inlaid embossing on it just using circles and really simple black and white its a very striking card and even though its possibly quite a masculine card I still added the bling in the bottom right hand corner. I love this.

Colour Combo's

Where do your colour combinations come from? On Thursdays my wee one and I go to a mainly music group, there was a little boy there who had on a vest knitted for him by grandma, and these were the colours. I thought it would make a very cool card. The layout I saw on another blog with completely different colours and stamps. Here I have used all the stamps in the Lots of Bots set, such a cute set for little boys cards.

Driving by.....

Here I am...... I have not up loaded anything here for quite some time but I have been crafting, but just need to photograph all my things . This is a card I made sometime ago using the Joy fold Design. I had a wee scrap of embossed wallpaper left over from another project and That's how it all began. Wall paper embosses so well because its soft. This card just evolved from there. I love it and its the second I have made just with different wall paper.

Masculine CASE card

This was sort of a copy from the IBC page 83.
I was not sure where i was heading with this , but I think it came out alright in the end. The top note shape has been cut from a wall paper sample I picked up from somewhere in the past, I have almost used them all now, must go find some more. They are great to put thru the Big shot with embossing folders.

On Sunday I had a wonderful day just playing with all my stamping stuff. I wasn't making anything for anyone and I had a ball. All up I made 15 cards to have on hand so I have lots to post over the next weeks or so. This was made from a sketch I have used before and really like.

Extreme... Boys

My friend late last year went to America for a holiday and while there took a stampin'-up workshop with a demonstrator and also put in a wee order of some stamps we can not get here yet, I say yet because I am ever hopeful. I have two boys aged 7 and almost 10 years old so they and all there friends are well past lots of the cute-sy stamps that are around for kids. So I couldn't help having a play with these two from her collection and I can see so many possibilities from these, They are called 'Extreme skateboard and Extreme Dirt bike'.

more cards for the blokes

This was another of the cards from my $3 cards focusing on the boys.

It was very simple, just randomly stamping the stamps from the totally tools set. This nicely used up my supply of Brocade blue, being one of the retiring colours with the matching ink. Also used the colour Night of navy. And silver brads in all four corners.

For the boys

Here is another one of the cards we did at my $3 cards that was for the men in our lives. This was a card I found on Splitcoast, there we many different versions . I just made up my own pattern for this one and just kinda made the card as I went along. This uses the DSP Belle Blue, it was about the most boyish that I had. Around the edge of the overalls I drew fake stitching with the matching marker, Not Quite Navy . The tools are stamped and cut out from the Totally Tool set. love this set! and the buttons were just fakes, I made from a half inch circle with two holes in it then put crystal effects over the top to make them nice shining buttons. I love this card and everyone who did this came up with some great variations using different DSP though.

Fathers Day is creeping closer

I have started making up some ideas for Fathers day and at my last $3.00 cards night we made all our cards to suit the men and boys. I will post those over the next couple of days. First up is what I made for my husband from me and 3 kids. We each have a pocket. The tags all come out and I'm going to get a photo of each kid and then they can each write a message on the back of their tag and then we will slip a gift card or something in the 4th pocket. The original is not my idea but I combined a few things I have seen around the Internet. This one took quite a while to make because I was playing with a few ideas at the time. This would be so easy to adapt for different occasions. Today I have 6 ladies coming to do a class on this, but not necessary for the men so that will be fun to see every ones Else's take on it, and I will try to get some photos to post. There were lots of different stamp sets, punches and a far bit of sponging too.
